【摘要】:ThePuseyandJonesindentationvalueisthedepthofindentation,expressedinhundredthsofamillimetre,ofaball3.175mm(0.1250in.)indiameterunderanexpressedforceof9.8N(2.2lbf).Thisvaluemaybeusedtocomparetheindentationresistanceofrubberandrubber-likematerials.TheindentationvalueobtainedshouldnotbeconfusedwithhardnessasmeasuredbyTestMethodD1415,sinceinthelattertesttherubberimmediatelyadjacenttotheindentorisprecompressed.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheindentationofrubberorrubber-likematerialsbymeansofthePuseyandJonestypeofplastometer.Thisapparatusisusedtomeasurethedepthofindentationofanindentor,underfixedforceintothesurfaceofarubberspecimen.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandards.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thisspecificationprovidestheperformancecharacteristicsandqualificationtestsrequiredforgasketedmechanicalcouplingsincludinggrooved-typemechanicalcouplingsforgroovedendpipe,mechanicalrestraintcouplingsforplainendpipeandmechanicalcompressioncouplingsforplainendpipe.Thesecouplingsareforuseattemperatureswithintherecommendedtemperaturerangeoftheirrespectivegaskets.Consultmanufacturerfordetails.Thevaluesstatedinmetricunits(SI)aretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparentheses(inch/pound)areprovidedforinformationpurposes.Measuringandtestequipment(M&TE)usedintheperformanceofthetestsdescribedhereinshallbecalibratedusingequipmentwhichistraceabletotheNationalInstituteofStandardsandTechnology(NIST)orcalibratedinaccordancewiththerequirementsdetailedinBS5781Part1againststandardstraceabletoNationalStandards.Asthisisnotadimensionalstandard,nordoesitcontaincomponentdimensions,theintermixingofsub-componentssuchasgasketsandhousingsbetweenmanufacturersisnotrecommendedandconstitutesnon-conformancewiththisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
