【摘要】:Thisguidemaybeusedtoevaluatetextilesusedinapparel,upholsteredfurniture,floorcoverings,windowtreatments,andbed,bathandtablelinens.Thisguidemaybeusedforseveralpurposes:Todeterminethecomparativeperformanceofneworexistingproducts,Todeterminethesuitabilityofcurrentproductsindifferentend-uses,andToevaluateandcomparetheeffectofwearofconstructiondetailsaswellasspecificfabrics,fibers,dyeings,finishing,fabricationtechniques,etc.Thisguideprovidesforflexibilityindesignandevaluationsincetheinformationsoughtfromeachweartestwillvary(seeAppendixX1).Thisguidemaybeusedtocomparethewearperformanceoftwoormoretextileswhentheseareincludedinthesametest,ortocompareatextilewhosepropertieshavenotbeenevaluatedwithonehavingaknownperformancehistory.1.1Thisguideisdesignedtoprovidedataonwhichapredictioncanbebasedconcerningtheexpectedwearperformanceofawidevarietyoftextilesinend-useconditions.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
